Delaware is a growing organization dedicated to increasing the number of fathers involved in the parenting process, thereby strengthening families and communities. We accomplish this by recognizing and celebrating fathers who are actively engaged in the lives of their children; by supporting and providing resources for fathers who would like to take a more active role in parenting; and by encouraging public policies that support shared parenting.About Us
To strengthen the institution of the family by promoting positive aspects of fatherhood in all medians and connecting men to resources designed to encourage them to be fully involved in the well being of their child(ren)life.
This is a celebratory week aimed at acknowledging BLACK FATHERS and fathers of color who are exemplary role models and key to strong communities. This is a week of social, cultural, and intellectual engagement that seeks to educate the public about the importance of fathers who are involved in the lives of their children, support and encourage positive fatherhood behaviors, discourage negative images as not being the norm, and link having healthy relationships to having healthy communities.
"It is our belief that children do better, both developmentally and in attainment of life opportunities, when both parents are actively involved in their parenting, regardless of the marital or living circumstances."
"In the absence of abuse, neglect or abandonment, children's desires, needs and interests are best served when they grow up loving equally, and equally loved by, both their parents. Further, children benefit equally from the diversity of both mothers and fathers and from the maximum involvement of both parents."
